Of course, we cannot verify each with Law and Order style investigation, but you can be certain that everyone whose name makes the list walked from one ocean to the other, usually confirmed by first-hand knowledge of the Walk in question.

Polly Letofsky. [All the miles, basically!] From Vail, CO to…Vail, CO. Letofsky left Vail in 1999 headed west. She walked to California. She then walked 14,000 more miles on various continents before returning to the United States and walking from New York back to Vail, CO. BJ Hill. San Francsico, CO, to Boston, MA. 2009.
Benjamin Lee. San Francisco, CA, to Cape Henlopen State Park, DE. 2014. Benjamin is Australian, though we do not hold that against him.
George Throop. 5000 miles. Washington state to New York City. 2009 – 2014. This was a five-year, smily-faced hike, from Washington to Los Angeles, from Los Angeles eastward, and finally up to NYC.
